Apparently, Larry Basile…
Apparently, Jonathan Crutchley, founder of Manhunt.com, aren’t content to just destroy Gay culture, but have now set their eyes on destroying America as a whole. The online front-runners in reducing homosexuality to its most hedonistic, male objectifying, got-to-have-it-now, lowest common denominator urges have given $2,300 (the maximum allowed by law) to the McCain campaign.
If you think about it, it’s not all that surprising. The kind of cynicism it takes to exploit gay men’s willingness to debase and commodify themselves in the search for validation, by reinforcing the belief that one’s only worth as a gay man is measured by his sexual desirability, all in the name of profit, is the same kind of cynicism it takes to be the presumptive Presidential candidate of a party noted for using homophobia, racism, and misogyny in order to win elections. Come to think of it, both Manhunt and the GOP have found a formula for success by reducing all of life’s issue to a dick-measuring contest.
By the way, this strident tone isn’t a turn-off, is it?

Well, you’re half right: while it’s true Jonathan contributed to McCain, Larry is, in fact, an Obama supporter. As is virtually every other Manhunt employee. And while I agree with much of what the OUT article said, I’m not so sure I buy your conclusion. Are you saying that every homosexual who objectifies other gay men is a Republican? I seriously doubt McCain would accept Jonathan’s donation if it became known how he made it! Maybe THAT’S the angle we should play…
I blogged about how both candidates have taken money from the co-owners of Manhunt. Check it out:

Wah, wah, wah. Men objectify the objects of their lust. Stop the presses. Manhunt didn’t start it, and all the baseless conclusions connecting Manhunt to the core of the problem isn’t going to make it so. If you want to go after someone for commodifying homosexuality, go after Out, The Advocate and Gay.com. It’s much more destructive to make gay men think they are what they purchase than it is for them to think they are who they screw. At least screwing brings you in contact with another human being instead of simply lining the pockets of a faceless corporation. Also, it was only one owner who donated. Not both. One is a longtime Democratic activist.
Ok, so there was no information on the home site regarding company policy (as well as from the customer service line) but if any blog users are interested in getting in contact with any company rep. from Manhunt.com, this is the best option

Jonathan Crutchley, a vicious homophobe is still a co owner of the company. Hatehunt.net has been misrepresenting itself as a pro-gay company while knowing that a portion of the proceeds go to promote discrimination and violence against lgbt people.
It is so important that people cancel their memberships and delete their profiles. We should not do business with homophobic corporations.
[...] gay sex site’s founder, Jonathan Crutchley. I forget where we are on this one. I mean, I know we’re supposed to be outraged that the our porn dollars are going to McCain (don’t care), but how do we feel about McCain not returning the money. Sully says it’s [...]
